The fall of 2025 began last Thursday (20) promising above historical average temperatures in almost all of Brazil and rainfall below normal in the south-central country, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).
For this week, the forecast is that the sun will continue to appear among many clouds, after rainy Sunday. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, the rains can come in the late afternoon, early evening. Already on Tuesday the rain should be quick only at night, even scenario until Friday.
However, until June, when winter begins, the rains should be more scarce, especially in the interior of Brazil, particularly in the northeastern semiarid, according to forecasts. The period will also be characterized by the transition from La Niña to neutral conditions in the Pacific, with 66% probability of neutrality during the March-Abril-MAIO/2025 quarter.
TIME FOR REGIONS
In the northern region, the period will have above average rainfall in the North Center portion, while the south of the region will record “near or below average” precipitation. Temperatures can be “1 to 2ºC above average in southeastern Pará and western Tocantins”.
For the Northeast, the forecast points to “unfavorable conditions for the rains” in the south center. The North portion will receive “more regular rains due to the performance of the intertropical convergence zone (ZCIT) south of its climatological position”.
The Midwest will have “below the historical average”, something common from April, a month that “represents the transition between the rainy and dry period of this region”. Temperatures will be above average in all states.

In the Southeast, there will be “predominance of rainfall below the historical average”, although “intense rainfall events may occur due to the passage of front systems over the ocean”. Temperatures will overcome the average, with possible punctual falls for “cold air mass forays, especially in higher altitude regions.”
The southern region will face “unfavorable conditions for rains” mainly in the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina and northern Rio Grande do Sul. The exception will be the “south-central Rio Grande do Sul, where the expectation is rainfall ranging from near the average”.

On Tuesday, the sun also appears between clouds with rain showers in the afternoon and night and a maximum temperature of 31 degrees.
Already on Wednesday, the sun appears and only rains fast at night and the maximum temperature is 27 degrees.
On Thursday the sun appears all day and also only rains fast at night.
On Friday, the sun reigns again and follows all the weekend.
