Waze expressed its intention to replace Google Assistant with a ” improved vocal integration solution In its mobile application for iPhone. Although the specific details have not been disclosed, it is likely that this new solution is based on Gemini, Google’s artificial intelligence model.

The Waze teams have been working for several months already on this IA integration into the GPS application, and seem to have abandoned Google Assistant, despite the bugs provided by users. Rather than improving technology intended to disappear, the engineers preferred the most radical path, namely its immediate suppression. And too bad for those who still used the assistant on a daily basis.

In fact, users would no longer need to use the interface buttons displayed by the software, but simply to say that there is a plug during their passage, or a new speed limitation so that artificial intelligence understands that it must be indicated to other drivers.

This transition is part of a broader Google approach aimed at gradually replacing Google assistant by Gemini on various devices and services.
