The South Korean tech giant, Samsung, is now extending the benefits of AI features even to its older devices. The company is offering special features with new updates to the Galaxy S21 series.
Samsung has introduced Galaxy AI features in its devices this year, and now the company is planning to extend some AI features to its older devices as well. The company has now released the OneUI 6.1 update for the Galaxy S21 series, which was launched in India three years ago. Until now, this update was only available in Europe, America, and the company’s home country. Samsung had launched this lineup in 2021.
Devices from the Galaxy S21 lineup, which were launched three years ago, will now start receiving several AI features after the latest update. The three models in the lineup that have received the update have firmware versions in the order of G996BXXUAGXDA, G996BOXMAGXDA, and G996BXXUAGXDA. This update is approximately 2.2GB in size and comes with a security patch for April. However, the fan edition model Galaxy S21 FE of the lineup has not yet received this update.
Even the old Samsung users will be able to use ‘Circle to Search’ One of the most talked-about AI features in Samsung smartphones is Circle-to-Search, and soon this option could also be available in other Android devices. This feature allows users to search about any object appearing on the screen by drawing a circle around it. This feature uses Google Lens technology. With its help, tasks like copying text from images or searching can be done easily.

Not only will the older Samsung devices benefit from this feature, but users will also be able to use several AI-powered editing features. The option to use these features will be available to users in the built-in gallery app. In addition, several features have been included in the built-in video editor as well. After the latest update, users will see some improvements in the Samsung Health app and in the Calendar app, users will be able to use two custom stickers for each date.
