A ghost driver caused a traffic accident with several vehicles on Autobahn 4 in the Gotha district. Three people were injured, including the 74-year-old ghost driver, said the police. Contrary to the prescribed direction of travel at the Gotha-Boxberg junction, the man had come to the highway.
A little later, a 61-year-old collided with his car near Hörsel on the side with the ghost driver’s car. The 61-year-old came to the right of the road and collided with a tractor-trailer. Finally, a 29-year-old driver came to the ghost driver and also collided with his car. The 29-year-old and his 31-year-old passenger were slightly injured and medically cared for at the scene of the accident. The ghost driver was seriously injured to a hospital.
According to the information, all of the vehicles involved and a middle guideline were damaged, and there was a damage of around 40,000 euros. The 74-year-old now awaits criminal proceedings for hazardous to road traffic.
