Shortly before the holidays, we have a mixed week of spring. According to the first forecasts, it is even possible that Easter will literally fall into the water in many places.
Just in time for the beginning of the coming week, the weather in Germany will be more changeable. From the west, clouds are increasing, which increases the chances of rain. Despite the inconsistent weather, the temperatures remain mild and reach the highest value of 20 degrees.
According to the first forecasts, the holidays themselves will not be too friendly. Because April remains moody and according to the current weather forecasts, Easter could be a clear change in the weather – with extreme rain, thunderstorms, hail and fall floods in large parts of Germany, but especially in the west and in the center of the state.
The European weather model ECMWF predicts that more than 130 liters of rain per square meter could fall in some regions until after Easter, “Wetter.net” meteorologist Dominik Jung forecast. According to the model calculations, the possible heavy rain cases in particular should be affected by Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, the Saarland and parts of Thuringia. Jung even warns of a real “mega flushing” between Good Friday and Easter Monday, at least according to the current status. The whole could be accompanied by thunderstorms.
It is particularly dangerous in this context that it did not rain in many regions in March and the soil is therefore rock hard and dry. Heavy rain can hardly seep away, which in turn increases the risk of local flood floods, reports the “Hessian/Lower Saxony General”.
Despite the current storm signals, the weather models show only a preliminary tendency for Easter. However, weather extremes have long been on the rise and a quick change from weeks of dryness and heavy downpours worldwide have been increasingly being observed.
Other models even speak of temperatures around 30 degrees to Easter. As the portal “weather forecast and weather forecast” writes, gravure systems could move south to Good Friday, which can lead to strong and long -lasting precipitation. Maundy Thursday, especially in the east, is possible for maximum 28 degrees or above. This is also confirmed by meteorologist Jung. Accordingly, the temperatures around the 30-degree mark are approaching.
However, cooler air flows over the west and south towards Alps, which leads to a temperature fall to only ten to 15 degrees. This favors storms in the western parts of the country, while it can remain dry in the east. After that, the large weather situation is to change again and for Easter the American weather model forecast cooler weather with many showers and temperatures between six and twelve degrees, night frost.
According to the European model, the current could change again on Easter Monday. This would then ensure a new temperature increase towards early summer values of about 20 degrees.
