Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that the decision on the dog’s memorial near the memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raigad Fort will be taken after intensive deliberations. Urge to remove dog idol

In a recent letter to Fadnavis about the memorial, Sambhajiraje said, ‘There is no documentary evidence about Shivaji Maharaj’s pet dog Vaghya. Since there is no such evidence, it is an encroachment on the (dog’s monument) fort, which is legally preserved as a heritage structure. ‘
