After the Holy Week holidays, dozens of students from Centers in Madrid and border provinces visit the facilities where the tournament is celebrated
Several schools in the Community of Madrid and different nearby provinces have visited the Mutua Madrid Open on their second day to know closely the facilities of the Magic Box, see some of the protagonists of the tournament and learn a little more about the world of tennis.
Among the groups we have been able to ask, there were children from Palas Athena de Torrejón de Ardoz, Palomeras de Vallecas and the Puebla de Almoradiel de Toledo. All of them have come as part of the subject of Physical Education with the same reason: bringing tennis closer to new generations, which in many cases do not have direct contact with this sport.
During their visit, the boys and girls have been able to live a complete experience: not only have they traveled the sports facilities, they have also interacted with video games, challenges, and different stands. Some have even been fortunate to see professional players train.
Racket sports such as tennis, paddle tennis and bádminton are gaining more and more prominence among young people, a professor from the Puebla de Almoradiel pointed out, and the growth of that interest could be felt in the day of this Tuesday. In fact, children have not hesitated to participate in the dynamics and give their opinion. “I really like playing,” said one of them. Almost all students agreed that they prefer this type of experience to traditional classes, since it goes far beyond sport.
