Tesla Cybertruck: Calculation of Cadastrophe for Elon Musk

Is there a big bang now? Tesla has to call back almost all cybertrucks. In the meantime, even large investors are calling for the end for Musk. He ruined the company.
The cybertruck, Tesla’s first electric pick-up, again makes negative headlines. All models previously delivered in the USA must be recalled to the workshops. The reason: an optical aperture could come loose while driving and, according to the US traffic safety authority NHTSA, is a security risk. Here you will learn more about the problem.
Tesla describes the problem as “small” and emphasizes that only one percent of the 46,000 vehicles produced is affected. But the responsible authority sees it differently: security has a top priority. Therefore, the recall affects all cybertrucks that were produced between November 2023 and February 2025 and approved in the United States – which includes almost the entire production. Apart from the US market, the cybertruck has so far only been offered in Canada.
The recall meets Tesla in an already tense phase. The sales figures for the cyber truck remain far behind the expectations. Elon Musk once spoke of an annual production of 250,000 vehicles – so far not even 40,000 copies have been sold.
At the same time, the stock price of the electric car manufacturer crashes. At the end of 2024, the Tesla share noted at over 460 euros, in mid-March 2025 it fell under 210 euros-a break-in by more than 50 percent.
Elon Musk is not only under an economical pressure – he is also politically stuck into the crossfire. Since Trump’s re -election, criticism of his proximity to the president has grown. Boycott calls are increasing, companies are deleting Tesla from their fleets, and many customers switch to the competition. At the same time, reports on vandalism are increasing in the brand vehicles.
Now even investors are calling for the fall of Musk. Grand investor Ross Gerber sums it up: “Elon Musk has ruined the company’s reputation. Sales break down.” His conclusion is unmistakable: “Tesla needs a new CEO.”
