The historical propylaes with pro-Palestinian slogans were sprayed at the Königsplatz in Munich. The police are investigating property damage and looking for witnesses.
Unknowns sprayed the historical gate construction of the propyleans at the Königsplatz in Munich with pro-Palestinian slogans. As the Munich police announced, emergency services discovered the smearings on Wednesday night as part of a control mission. The investigators assume that the lettering between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning was attached.
The slogans with reference to the Gaza War extended about 25 meters in length and were around half a meter high. On the pillars of the monument, the slogans “Free Palestine” and “From the River to the Sea” were read.
Color was also distributed on the steps towards Luisenstrasse. The lettering in the passage under the columns was initially covered and – like the other smearings – were now removed.
How many people were involved in the campaign has so far been unclear. No information could yet be given about the amount of damage. Commissioner 43 has taken over the investigation into property damage. Witnesses are asked to report on 089/2910 – 0.
The crime scene is near several facilities that have been related to pro-Palestinian actions or crimes in the past. Not far from the Consulate General of the State of Israel, for example, to which an 18-year-old from Austria had committed a politically motivated attack in September 2024. The building of the Technical University of Munich, in which there was a Pro Palestinian campaign with police operation in January 2025, is also in close proximity.
