Lakhimpur Kheri: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat while addressing a gathering in Kabirdham, Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh said that the purpose of India is to provide happiness, peace and knowledge to the world. He emphasized the importance of Indian culture and values, expressing concern over the progress of science and its misuse. Referring to the environmental destruction, the RSS chief said that India had created a system in the past where there was prosperity, but nature was not exploited.
‘We gave spirituality, taught respect for diversity’
Bhagwat said, ‘Due to science, there has been a lot of progress, happiness increased, but humans have such powerful weapons that they can destroy the earth thrice. Unfortunately, when we have to use them and when not, we do not have the discretion of it. Our ancestors went to every corner of the world after traveling small boats and walking. He spread civilization, culture and knowledge there, but neither won the country nor converted to religion. We gave spirituality and taught respect for diversity. ‘
‘The world is looking at India with hopeful eyes’
Emphasizing the unity of India, Bhagwat said, ‘We are a nation, a mother, son of Bharat Mata. Language, province, worship and customs may be different, but we are one. ‘ He also said that being an Indian does not mean to live in India only, but to live the values for which India is known in the world. Referring to the expectations of the world, the RSS chief said, ‘Today the world is looking towards India with hopeful eyes. People believe that the path of happiness and solution will be found from India itself.

Bhagwat further said in his address, “The world has discovered material happiness in the last 2000 years, but India taught that true happiness is in satisfaction and spirituality.” He called upon Indian society to adopt morality, truth and satisfaction in his life, so that India can become a world guru again. Bhagwat said, ‘Our constitution also talks about emotional unity. The feeling is that we are one despite our diversity. He insisted that India will again have to become a carrier of such culture, which gives direction to the world.
