Surprise in the German Fast food ranking from Listflix: Not Hamburg or Berlin lead the list. Which Franconian city leaves everyone else behind.
The Franconian metropolis of Nuremberg is not only known for its historic old town and gingerbread-according to a current analysis of the Listflix comparison portal, it is at the top of the German Fast food cities. With impressive 36.28 fast food restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants, Nuremberg is at the top of the Germany -wide ranking.
The Hanseatic city follows in second place Hamburg. Overall, the Elbe metropolis has the most fast food restaurants, but it is just behind Nuremberg with 36.07 restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants with 36.07 restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants.
The state capital of Schleswig-Holstein surprisingly takes third place. Kiel is the smallest city in the top 10, but scores with a proud 35.99 fast food locations per 100,000 inhabitants.
Particularly striking: cities from North Rhine-Westphalia dominate the ranking. Five NRW cities made it in the top 10-including Bochum in 4th place with 33.41 fast food restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants and Düsseldorf in 5th place with a density of 32.71.
The Bavarian city of Augsburg takes sixth place with 32.69 fast food restaurants per 100,000 inhabitants, closely followed by the banking metropolis Frankfurt am Main (31.6) in seventh.
The last three places in the top 10 go back to North Rhine-Westphalia: Münster (31.1), Cologne (30.7) and Essen (30.4) also offer their residents a large selection of fast food restaurants.
The industry analyst Maximilian Wieser evaluated the density of fast food restaurants in major German cities for the Listflix study. The result clearly shows that, especially in urban metropolitan areas, quick food seems to be very popular.
