The new Tour de France game is graphically embarrassed.
Even if the Unreal Engine 5 still has its pain points, it can get undisputed very chic graphics out of games. And that works even with smaller titles without too much budget. This is now shown by the latest part of the Tour de France series. He gets a good graphic boost with this year’s offshoot.
This sports game finally looks like a PS5 title
The Tour de France games appear almost dutiful every year for consoles and PCs. Visually, however, you have so far been able to say “nothing earth -shattering” over the series. Now the sports series from Cyanide Studios with the 2025 offshoot dares to jump to the Unreal Engine 5.
And that optically makes a lot. Especially the direct comparison to last year’s offshoot Tour de France 2024 makes it clear how big the jump is, which the new Playstation trailer also shows:

Tour de France 2025 is the first branch in the series in Unreal Engine 5 and this is what it looks like
In direct comparison, the graphic of the offshoot of 2024 literally looks old. Of course, Tour de France 2025 does not offer AAA graphics splendor. The character models of the audience, for example, still look a bit blocking.
But the improved light and shadow effects in particular help to ensure that the game looks a lot more chic and not as flat anymore. In addition, the denser vegetation and the chic water of the UE5 also make a lot.
It is only to be hoped that the performance in the unreal engine 5 is also right. Thanks to its resource-eating features, the engine often has difficulty keeping a high frame rate-or only creates this at the expense of resolution. Particularly large game worlds can quickly become a problem here.
As is well known, the Tour de France runs quite linearly along specified routes, we probably don’t need to worry so much here.
Despite more fancier graphics, the Tour de France games are of course a matter of taste. After all, differently than many other racing games, they rely on the management of your perseverance and energy if you want to hold through while running and fight your way through the front places.
If you want to take a look yourself: Tour de France 2025 will be released on June 5 for PS5, Xbox and PC.
