Numerous users pointed out the contradiction between the appearance in the shirt of the Hamburg club and Neymar’s political past. FC St. Pauli is known for its anti -fascist, anti -racist and antisexist commitment, while the striker in the Brazilian presidential election campaign in 2022 openly supported the right -wing candidate Jair Bolsonaro.
Political explosiveness is increased by the fact that a charges by the Brazilian General Prosecutor’s office was only raised against the former President Bolsonaro in February because of an attempted coup d’état.
