The situation in West Bengal’s violence affected Murshidabad is gradually becoming normal. The shops are open again and the displaced families are returning. Violence affected areas mainly include Suti, Dhulian, Shamsherganj and Jangipur. After these, the most violence has occurred in Zafarabad. Most of the Hindus’ houses and shops have been burnt in Zafarabad. Hindu has migrated to the violent area of Jafarabad. Temples have been destroyed. The lock is hanging in homes and shops.
The Hindus who were trapped on the banks of the ghat and in the middle of Dhuliya and Zafarabad migrated to the other side of the river, so that the way to reach the highway was not found. In the middle, the people of the Muslim settlement created a orgy. At the same time, there was stone pelting in the temple in Dhulian, shops were burnt. People say that thousands of people created a ruckus. If the BSF post is not built here, then we will not be safe.
210 arrests so far
Additional Director General (Law and Order) Javed Shamim informed that efforts are on to restore peace and stability in the affected areas. Shops have started opening and people are returning. So far 19 families have returned to their homes. Malda and Murshidabad, both district administration are working together to ensure the safe return of people who have gone from the districts. He said, “210 arrests have been made so far. I appeal to the people not to believe in rumors and confirm the information. If we have to maintain peace then rumors will have to be stopped.”
Three people died in violence
Let us know that three people were killed and many others were injured in violence erupted in Suti, Dhulian, Shamsherganj and Jangipur areas of Murshidabad since Friday. Referring to the brutal murder of father and son in one case, Javed Shamim said that a separate case would be registered and all the people involved- the culprits and the spectacles will be held accountable. He said that it will take time to identify him, but no one will be spared.
