On August 6, 2024, the story begins with Megha’s father praying for his daughter’s happiness. Megha is dancing on the terrace when she notices Jassi. She approaches Jassi and asks her where she’s heading. Jassi tells Megha that Gurpreet is arriving today. Megha suggests that Jassi should come inside for tea before going. Jassi sees her family and hides behind Megha, pleading for help. She explains that her family thinks she is crazy and that Gurpreet won’t come for her.
Jassi’s brother and sister arrive and take her away, leaving Megha in tears. Two women gossip about Jassi, and Megha taunts them in response. Megha’s father appears with fresh milk and asks her to make a mango milkshake, hoping it will impress Manoj’s parents. Megha shyly agrees and they head inside.
Megha’s mother advises her father not to reveal his health condition to Manoj’s parents. She believes that since Manoj is an NRI, Megha’s future will be secure. Megha’s father insists he must evaluate the family. Megha supports her father when discussing this with her friends.
Megha’s aunt, Goldie, arrives at their house and makes a snide comment about Megha’s sister-in-law getting ready. Despite this, the sister-in-law helps Megha prepare for Manoj’s visit, noticing her tension and offering reassurance.
When Manoj and his parents arrive, Manoj greets Megha, who shyly retreats inside. Goldie offers them rasmalai and inquires about Manoj’s office. Manoj reveals that he works at Alexander Mall 2 and hands over his visiting card to Megha’s mother, who had heard otherwise. Manoj assures her that it’s no issue.
Goldie mentions Megha’s profession as a dance choreographer. Megha then comes forward to greet Manoj and his parents. She takes Manoj to show him around the house and they share a mango milkshake. Megha confesses her nervousness, and Manoj admits he feels the same. She also reveals her weakness in English, but Manoj’s kindness makes her smile. She shares that the terrace is her favorite spot and worries about adjusting to marriage. Manoj reassures her that she can video call her parents daily from Georgia, thanks to free Wi-Fi.
Manoj’s father points out that Megha’s father hasn’t said much and mentions that they don’t seek dowry, but the wedding should be grand. Manoj’s mother insists on booking an expensive hall. Goldie takes Megha’s father inside for his insulin shot and warns him to keep quiet about his condition, locking him in a room.
Megha and Manoj inform their families that they like each other. Megha unlocks the door and brings her father out. She tells him she won’t make a decision without his approval and drags him downstairs. She then asks him to speak up. Megha’s father tells Manoj’s parents that he has saved twenty-five lakhs for Megha but will only spend one lakh on the wedding, planning a simple ceremony at the Gurudwara with prasad for the guests. He reveals he intends to open a fixed deposit in Megha’s name.
Manoj’s parents scold Megha’s father and leave in anger. Megha is deeply hurt, recalling her moments with Manoj. She tells her father she had hoped for something more with Manoj and breaks down in tears. Her father consoles her, and Megha reassures him that as long as he and God are with her, everything will be fine.
