As Rannvijay listens to her explanation, he recalls a similar sentiment expressed by Jaya. Vaiju acknowledges that she couldn’t physically wrap the plant as a gift but offers him a handful of soil to care for, symbolizing her intentions. Meanwhile, Vasundhara informs everyone about the women in the house observing the Durga Ashtami fast. Rannvijay, concerned, advises Jaya not to fast, but she insists that she’s doing it as a sign of her love for him. Vasundhara chimes in, emphasizing the importance and difficulty of this fast, particularly for married couples. Vaiju, silently observing, contemplates her own role in the situation.
Later, in the privacy of her room, Vaiju reflects on her marriage and the responsibilities that come with it. Determined, she decides to keep the fast, despite the challenges it may present. The following morning, Vasundhara notices that Vaiju is awake unusually early and inquires about it. Vaiju, not wanting to reveal the true reason, lies, claiming that the noise in the house woke her up.
As the day progresses, Vasundhara mentions that the women should eat food served by their husbands. Vaiju notices Ragini silently crying and follows her to offer support. She gently asks Ragini if she is alright. Ragini, conflicted, wonders if she should participate in the fast. Understanding Ragini’s dilemma, Vaiju empathizes with her pain of being married but separated from her husband. She advises Ragini that the decision to fast should be hers alone, emphasizing that it’s a personal choice. Sulekha, however, disagrees and insists that Ragini should observe the fast. Sulekha, unable to resist, taunts Vaiju by questioning her understanding of marital responsibilities, given her own broken relationships. Rannvijay intervenes, urging Sulekha to remain silent, while Vasundhara sides with Vaiju, encouraging Ragini to make her own decision. After the others leave, Vaiju sneaks into the kitchen and eats a small portion of food from the leftovers that had been touched by Rannvijay. She is deeply conflicted, acknowledging that while she may never hold the position of a true wife, she still feels a duty to fulfill her responsibilities. As she eats the food, memories of Rannvijay’s care for her in recent days flood her mind, and she is overcome with emotion, tears streaming down her face.
Suddenly, Rannvijay enters the kitchen and catches Vaiju in the act. He confronts her, questioning why she is eating during the fast and why she took food from Jaya’s leftovers. Vaiju, caught off guard, tries to fabricate an excuse, but Rannvijay isn’t convinced. He is certain that she is hiding something from him. Before he can probe further, they are interrupted by Arhaan, who calls them for the aarti.
During the aarti, Ragini, feeling the weight of the situation, asks Vaiju to stand beside her for support. However, Rannvijay remains focused on Vaiju, determined to get answers. He asks her directly if she has kept the fast for him. Vaiju responds by reminding him that while she will not make any demands of him, she still has the right to fulfill her duties. At this moment, Kaveri enters the scene and notices Rannvijay talking to someone. Assuming it’s Jaya, she is surprised to find Jaya elsewhere in the house. The episode concludes with Kaveri attempting to discover who Rannvijay is speaking to.
