The fight for the championship in the Bundesliga remains exciting. Bayer Leverkusen continues to put FC Bayern under pressure.
Bayer Leverkusen does not give up in the fight for the championship title. On Friday evening, Leverkusen clearly won 3-1 against VfL Bochum – and shortened the distance from Bayern to just three points.
Aleix Garcia (20th) had the master in the lead, Felix Passlack (26th) balanced shortly afterwards. In the second half, however, Leverkusen added a gear and made everything clear through goals from Victor Boniface (60th) and Amine Adli (87.).
Bayer coach Xabi Alonso changed his starting eleven in comparison to the 4: 3 in Stuttgart before the international break: striker Boniface came for defensive player Robert Andrich. Hecking exchanged 1: 3 against Frankfurt Center Jakov Medic against wing racer Gerrit Holtmann. The day before, Hecking announced his remaining at the district club in the event of a class.
“We have to be brave. We know that we are the blatant outsider,” said Hecking before the duel at DAZN. At least in the first few minutes of the game, Bochum defended defensive compact. Despite two center forwarders, the work elf’s lively and quick -starting work elf was missing.
But after 20 minutes, the hosts and above all the inner ligament were able to cheer the game with his girlfriend and parents in the stands and celebrated an earlier return during the week. Garcia fled the ball with a long -range shot to the right into the corner.
Bochum was almost unimpressed, however, a quick answer to the deficit and suddenly even had longer possession phases in the Bayer half. After a serious header back pass from Granit Xhaka, Georgios Masouras initially failed to keeper Lukas Hradecky. But Passlack used the rebound on the edge of the box and converted into the left corner to compensate.
After that, Leverkusen tried visibly, but at the latest at the edge of the box, VfL made the room so tight with a lot of self -confidence after the connection goal that there was no way through. In the offensive game, the master lacked precision. In the first section, there was hardly anything to see from the supposedly big difference between championship fight and relegation battle.
After the change of sides, the Werkelf initially showed a lot of momentum for the quick leadership. Boniface (47th) and Schick (49.) initially failed due to Timo Horn. On the other hand, Hradecky parried a counterattack by Matus Bero (54th). But then it was the Boniface, which was slipped into the starting eleven, who, after a cross pass from Piero Hincapie with his right knee, transported the ball completely freely into the goal from a short distance.
When trying to compensate again, Ibrahima Sissoko slipped away from the Leverkusen penalty area (78.). After a cross pass from Garcia, Frimpong narrowly missed the preliminary decision. Substitute Adli finally took care of this shortly before the final whistle.
