Dakar, Senegal): A village has been attacked by a jihadi organization in the western part of Niger. 44 citizens of the village have died in this attack. Niger’s Home Ministry gave this information. The ministry said in a statement that the attack took place on Friday afternoon in Fambita village in Kokoru rural area bordering Mali and Burkina Faso. He has blamed the ‘Islamic State in Great Sahara or EIGS’ for this attack.
The EIGS has not been contacted for the response in connection with this attack. The Home Ministry said in a statement, “At around two o’clock in the afternoon, when Muslim devotees were offering prayers, the terrorists armed with heavy weapons surrounded the respective mosque and carried out the massacre.” He said that the attackers also set fire to a market and houses before leaving.
3 days mourning on the death of citizens
The government has declared a 3 -day mourning after the murder of 44 citizens in Niger. The ministry said that the interim number of the dead is at least 44, while 13 are seriously injured. The Ministry has announced a three -day national mourning. Niger with its neighboring countries Burkina Faso and Mali has been struggling with the rebellion of jihadi organizations for more than a decade.
