The Expanding Roster of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has expanded its roster of playable characters significantly compared to Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Characters like Cait Sith and Red XIII, who were only part of the party in the Remake, now have unique playstyles for players to experience in Rebirth. Among these characters, Vincent stands out as a character that fans are particularly excited about.
Throughout both Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the protagonist, Cloud, experiences visions of the villain Sephiroth, adding a layer of intrigue and mystery to the story.
Vincent Valentine: A Party Member with a Twist
While many fans were hoping to see Vincent in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, they were disappointed when he didn’t make an appearance. However, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Vincent does join the player’s party eventually, but with a twist: he is not a playable character.
Unlocking Vincent: A Journey to Chapter 11
Players will only be able to unlock Vincent in Chapter 11, titled “The Long Shadow of Shinra”. To unlock him, players must return to the Shinra Manor as part of the quest, the same place where things took a turn for the worse with Sephiroth in Chapter 1. After a series of challenging battles, Cloud and the rest of the party members discover a locked room housing Vincent’s coffin. Interestingly, this door was present in the first chapter as well, but it was inaccessible at that time.
Following a brief interaction with Vincent, the party moves on to the next area in the Shinra Manor. Here, players must face off against Vincent, who transforms into his Galian beast form for the fight. This boss battle is one of the toughest in the game, but players can exploit Vincent’s weakness to fire to deplete his HP quickly.
After the battle, Cait Sith invites Vincent to join their party, but Vincent declines and returns to his room. However, as the chapter concludes, Vincent joins Cloud and the party as they depart for the Gold Saucer in Cid’s ship. Unlike in the original game where Vincent was an optional party member, in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Vincent automatically joins the party as part of the main campaign.
While fans may be disappointed that Vincent is not playable in the game, the developers are likely saving this feature for the third installment. So, stay tuned for more updates and keep exploring the immersive world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!
