The woman’s lawyer who denounced Dani Alves for rape, has announced that he will resort to the absolution of the footballer. Ester García has explained that the complainant feels “very disappointed and very sad” and “she felt she returned to the bathroom where the events occurred.”
Speaking to the media at the gates of his office, Garcia has lamented that the acquittal of Alves represents “a setback in the fight against the violence of women, both at the legal and social level”, which can discourage to denounce the victims of sexual aggressions.
After recognizing that it is a sentence they did not expect, Garcia has told that the complainant is “very disappointed and very sad.” “He has somehow felt as if he returned to the bathroom where the events occurred,” he added.
The lawyer has announced her intention to resort to the Supreme Absolution of Alves, although she has specified that her priority is the “emotional recovery” of the young woman, so they must assess that “it can be sustained” during the time late in resolving the appeal, which could take a year.
