Knife attack in Berlin’s tram

A man was attacked with a knife in a Berlin tram. The police search for the fleeting perpetrator, the victim is in the hospital.

In Berlin-Mitte, a man was apparently stabbed in a tram at night. The incident occurred in line M2 on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße at around 2:30 a.m., as the Berlin T-Online situation center confirmed in the early morning.

According to previous knowledge, the perpetrator opened the doors of the tram after the attack and fled on foot in an unknown direction, reports a reporter on site. The victim therefore remained heavily bleeding in the tram.

Officials from the Berlin police arrived at the crime scene shortly afterwards and provided first aid for the emergency services, the reporter on site continued. The injured was therefore cared for by paramedics and an emergency doctor and then transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

The search for the fleeting perpetrator is currently in full swing. The police started the investigation on site. So far there have been no reliable information about the background of the crime.
