Eletrobras signs a government conciliation agreement on voting power in the company

(Reuters)-Eletrobras (ELET3; ELET6) reported on Wednesday that it signed a Federal Government Conciliation Agreement to terminate action at the Federal Supreme Court about the Union’s voting boundary in the company.

Now, the Union may appoint three names for the Board of Directors of Latin America’s largest electricity, in the first major reformulation of the collegiate since privatization, which had reduced state participation in decisions.

The theme was seen as a risk associated with the company and was weighing on stocks on the stock market.

The final terms of the agreement, released last month, allow the company to stop having several obligations linked to the nuclear generation business, which continued as a minority partner via Eletronuclear.

In the same relevant fact, Eletrobras said it is close to signing an agreement to suspend investment obligations in Angra 3, still unfinished.

The two topics will be submitted to the shareholder assembly scheduled for the end of April.
