Despite Russia’s reorganization for the spring offensive: A Ukrainian drone wall stops an attack in eastern Ukraine before it begins.

Kurachowe – In Eastern Ukraine, Russia has only been able to take a few new areas for the past few months. The Russian army apparently gathered for a new offensive, but the Ukrainian army was prepared for this. When the offensive occurred, a drone wall quickly brought the attack to a standstill.

After Russia had conquered Kurachowe in a lost struggle in December 2024, the resources were missing for further great offensive. Four months later, Ukrainian military experts suspected that the Russian army had reorganized. It is expected that “the Russian offensive actions will continue to expand in the south in the coming months,” warned Tatarigami, the founder of the Ukrainian analysis group Frontelligence Intelligence Online platform X. In fact, Russian troops had started for such an offensive a few days earlier.

In the germ, Ukraine with quick defense against new Russia offensive

They started in several places in the north of Kurachowe and in the south of Sribne attacks-with a total of four different units, as the Ukrainian operational-strategic group Chorzyzja reported in their telegram channel. Equipped with tanks, motorcycles, infantry and buggies, each group had its own mission, the group reported. “The probable plan of the operation was to break (or to destroy) the Ukrainian defense and to conquer the settlements of Bohdaniwka, Troitzke and Horichowe.”

But the troops already saw Ukrainian surveillance drones. With FPV drones, the Ukrainian army attacked the Russian troops. According to the Chorzyzja Group, this was a complete success: none of the four troops were able to reach Ukrainian positions at all. A total of 50 Russians are said to have been killed in the bloody attack, partly brutally. The drones first paralyzed the vehicles, including two tanks, two armored team transporters, four off -road vehicles and four motorcycles. Then the drones probably followed the fleeing soldiers.

Ukraine discusses summer strategy: Russia could start summer offensive in several regions

Tatarigami would not have been surprised by the strategic success of the drone wall. For him, the low success of the Russian winter offensive has already shown: “The situation of Ukraine is not bad”, even if Russia wanted to represent it as “catastrophic”. The strategy for spring and summer is currently a great topic of discussion in Ukraine – and not all military experts agree with Tatarigami’s assessment that Russia would prioritize the south on an offensive in spring and summer. There are some regions in which the situation is currently tense.

Deputy head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa told the news agency Reuters On Thursday (April 10th) that Russia would continue towards Pokrowsk. However, Palisas also assumed that Russian President Vladimir Putin would intensify the fights in Ukraine in April and May. According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), another offensive in the northeast of Ukraine, in the region of the city of Sumy, would also be conceivable. However, the Russian troops would have to be reinforced there, according to the ISW. (Lismah)
