In the United States, there is again nationwide protests against the government under President Donald Trump given. Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in front of the White House in Washington DC. They accused Trump to rule autocratic and deport foreigners without adequate legal proceedings. Some chanted “Bring Them Home”, alluding to migrants, who, according to the protesters, were illegally deported. Other Trump’s politics complained about the wars in the Gaza Strip and Ukraine and criticized the layoffs of tens of thousands of employees.
A woman from Washington stated that she had come because she had the feeling that the protest against Trump was growing and she wanted to be there. A young man said that if a man like the Kilmar Ábrego García deported to El Salvador, then you have to be careful that other citizens would not soon be taken. Ábrego García had been deported by the US government despite existing protection without procedures. The U.S. Ministry of Justice spoke of an “accidental” deportation, the Supreme Court called it a “outrageous mistake” and called for the government’s measures to return.
Hundreds of demonstrators also gathered in front of the New York public library in New York. The Washington Post reported other protests in other cities. A group called 50501 had called. “We are trying to protect our democracy from the beginning of the autocracy under the Trump government,” said one of the organizers.
Two weeks ago there were first major nationwide protests in which tens of thousands of people demonstrated in dozens of states against Trump’s politics.
