The price of diesel in Karnataka has increased by Rs 2 per liter.
Bengaluru: The government has given a shock to diesel customers in Karnataka. The price of diesel has increased by Rs 2 per liter due to increasing sales tax in the state from 18.44 per cent to 21.17 per cent. Effective since 1 April 2025, this change has brought the new price to Rs 91.02 per liter. Explain that property tax was also increased in the state and the prices of electricity and milk were also increased. The government is defending this decision citing the need for revenue to fund infrastructure and public welfare projects.
Kumaraswamy attacked Karnataka government
The Opposition has also targeted the increase in prices of essential goods by the Government of Karnataka. Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the Siddaramaiah government of Karnataka of converting the ‘price hike demon’ and said that it was sucking the blood of the people. In a statement, he said, ‘From today onwards, the government of the Congress company is also levying the garbage. She is sucking people’s blood. He accused the state government of cheating and continuously raising prices. Taking a sarcasm, he said, ‘This is the governance style of Karnataka East India Congress Company Government. From today onwards, the Congress company government is also levying the garbage.
‘Ghori and Ghajanvi are also embarrassed by Congress government’

Kumaraswamy alleged that the state government is using its so -called ‘5 guarantees’ as an excuse to increase prices. He said, ‘But its real intention is nothing but robbing people.
