A 31-year-old tried to penetrate a house armed. Despite the existing contact ban, the man entered the property on Thursday afternoon and tried to enter the front door, according to the police. At that time, people were in the house.
When the police arrived, the man fled to an apartment building. There he barricaded himself armed in the staircase. The police initially gave no information on what he was armed with.
The police evacuated residents with the help of the volunteer fire brigade via a turntable ladder from the apartments. Since the 31-year-old did not give up his project, the negotiation group and special units of the Thuringian police were deployed. These overwhelmed the man, suffering minor injuries. The 31-year-old was temporarily arrested. A police dog was injured in the operation.
