An 84-year-old was cheated by tens of thousands of euros in a shock call. According to the police, the man from Arnstein (district of Mansfeld-Südharz) handed over a sum of over 35,000 euros on Tuesday.
The man was informed of the man by a false lawyer that his daughter had to custody after a traffic accident. The payment of a deposit could be avoided, he was explained. The senior considered the facts to be credible and handed over the sum to an unknown man.
The police keep warning of such calls. The spokesman for the Halle Police Directorate pointed out that official officials and authorities would not request payment of such a deposit.
