The Enforcement Directorate i.e. ED has filed a charge sheet against Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and others in the money laundering case related to the National Herald case. Further hearing in this case in the court is to be held on the date of April 25. The Congress has encouraged the ED action against its leaders. Congress leaders have described it as a political -inspired action. At the same time, Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal has announced a protest across the country on Wednesday to protest against this action.

The notice issued by Congress leader KC Venugopal said that “the property of the National Herald has been confiscated by the Modi government in an arbitrary and unjust manner. Along with this, the charge sheet has been given against the party leadership. The Congress condemns this step. It is not a matter of legal process but a crime sponsored by the state in the name of law. It is a direct attack on the democratic opposition and the ruling party is a direct attack on the government. There is an attempt to intimidate.

The notice issued by KC Venugopal said- “All the State Congress Committee is directed to protest against the ED office in the respective states on the date of Wednesday, 16 April and in front of the central government offices at the district level. In this protest, senior leaders, MLAs, MPs and other officials and Congress workers should be involved in this protest and should register against the politics of the government.”
What did BJP say?
On this whole matter, BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh said- “The ED is working according to the law. Strict action will be taken by law on those who do money laundering in the National Herald case. No one can be spared only because he belongs to a particular family. Institutions are completely independent. Neither the government puts pressure on them nor does they directly take instructions from the government. This matter is not inspired by politics. “
