WayForward Technologies is bringing back the 1995 survival horror classic, Clock Tower, with a new enhanced version called Clock Tower: Rewind. This updated game will be available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Originally released for the Super Famicom, Clock Tower became known for its chilling atmosphere and innovative gameplay.
A Classic Revived
Clock Tower follows the story of Jennifer Simpson, an orphan adopted by the wealthy Barrows family. Jennifer finds herself in a terrifying situation where she must escape from a mansion while being chased by the Scissorman, a killer wielding giant shears. The game is inspired by Italian horror films, especially Dario Argento’s Phenomena. Players use a point-and-click interface to explore the mansion, find items, and uncover secrets to survive the deadly game.
New Features and Enhancements
Clock Tower: Rewind retains the original’s gameplay and graphics but adds several modern features. New additions include:
- Animated Intro: A new animated opening sequence to set the tone for the game.
- Motion Comics: Cutscenes presented in a motion-comic style.

Players can choose between the original mode, which offers the classic 1995 experience, or the enhanced mode with all the new features. The enhanced mode includes a new animated intro, opening and ending theme songs, motion-comic cutscenes, and more.
Pre-Orders and Release Date
Pre-orders for Clock Tower: Rewind will be available from May 31, 2024, through June 30, 2024. The game will be released digitally and in physical editions. Limited Run Games will handle the physical release, which includes several editions: Standard, PC Micro, and Collector’s Editions. The Collector’s Edition features a booklet, poster, acrylic standees, original soundtrack, keychain, stress ball, sticker sheet, statuette, and enamel pin.
