Chubut became the first province to adhere to the fiscal transparency regime to the consumer. Therefore, purchase tickets will show the detail of gross income and municipal fees, in addition to VAT and other national taxes that have been shown throughout the country.
The governor of Chubut, Ignacio Torres, invited the other jurisdictions to join the measure. “Each province is autonomous to sanction their respective taxes, but it is our minimal obligation to inform the citizen, even more with the call that was made in this law,” he said.
Chubut will report gross income on tickets
The National Government established the obligation to exhibit the tax detail from January 1 for large companies and from April for the rest of the shops. Five other provinces declared that they will adhere, in response to a letter sent by logic, the NGO that promotes this regime.

Chubut adds to fiscal transparency: it will report gross income in tickets
The president of Logic, Matías Olivero Vila, also referred to the importance of advancing with the fiscal transparency regime. “We have the highest taxes and inflation in the world because of a citizenship without tax awareness by a regime that systematically concealed taxes. With fiscal transparency, 50 years of the shameful prohibition of showing the VAT to the consumer were completed and other taxes are stopped behind the seller and other links of the chain, such as gross income and municipal fees, the most hidden, he said.
“The lack of fiscal awareness led to the citizens not demanding from politicians responsible in spending and taxes that weigh in everyday life, in general more than 40% of the final price. Knowing the taxes we support will empower us to demand taxes and logical public expenses, as well as credit services, at the three levels of the State,” he added.
Since January logic sent two successive letters to the 24 governors and a dozen officials in each province with two questions. Only CABA, Catamarca, Chubut, Entre Ríos, Mendoza and Misiones answered, stating that they will adhere and that they will not apply sanctions to which, meanwhile, voluntarily visible local taxes voluntarily. “In addition to Chubut, Entre Ríos activated and aim to be the next to adhere,” they said from logic.
In six other provinces, nine adhesion projects were presented, but for the opposition of each province.
“Chubut decided to transparent his local taxes, within the framework of a general resistance of the provinces that is inadmissible. This is not like the invitation of the Rigi, where the provinces put their collection into play, so they could reject it. But it is only information. From logic we maintain that the provinces are obliged to adhere to two mandates of article 42 of the Constitution. It is an invitation-exchartation. They can adhere in a day, via provincial decree, because they do not modify taxes.
For the president of the NGO, it is a historical opportunity to cause a change in the fiscal consciousness of the society, taking advantage of the ‘momentum of cultural change generated by the current authorities. “The challenge is to work as a society so that the next tax reforms are deep and lasting so that, beyond the ruling political sign, the fiscal becomes a mainly citizen case, as happened with the awareness that resulted in the more than 40 years of consolidation of democracy,” he insisted.
