Mumbai Heroes
The Mumbai Heroes, led by Riteish Deshmukh, are aiming to make a strong statement in this crucial match. They have been a part of the Celebrity Cricket League since its inception in 2011 and were declared champions in 2019 based on net run-rate, after the semis and final were washed out due to rain. The team is looking forward to continuing their winning streak in this season as well.

Chennai Rhinos
On the other side, the Chennai Rhinos, who have been equally competitive since the league’s inception, are two-time champions, having won the first two editions of the tournament. However, their performance since then has been less stellar, mostly limited to the group stage, except for a final appearance in 2015, where they were defeated by the Telugu Warriors.
In their previous encounters against the Mumbai Heroes, the Chennai Rhinos have faced off six times. Of these, one match ended abandoned, two were won by the Heroes, while the Rhinos emerged victorious in three instances. The schedules of the 2016 and 2017 tournaments did not see them compete against each other.
The winner of this match will move to the second Qualifier, which takes place on the same day, against the loser of Qualifier 1. This will be a hard-fought battle, with both teams vying for that Qualifier spot and a second chance at making it to the finale.
