Dutch maqbara: A very good news related to the tourism sector in Bihar has emerged. The Dutch tomb located in Chhapra city of Saran district of Bihar has been included in the list of preserved memorial site. On 16 April, this Dutch mausoleum was declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Directorate of the Government of Bihar. The Archaeological Directorate of the Arts, Culture and Youth Department of the Government of Bihar had proposed to preserve it under the Bihar Ancient Memorial Act, 1976, after which this decision has been taken.
What is protected monument list
When the monuments such as temples, mosques, pillars, fort, reservoirs or idols etc. are important from historical and religious perspective, it is required to protect and maintain its prevention and maintenance, to protect such historical monuments from encroachment and to take care of them, they are included in the list of protected memorials under the State Archaeological Act at the state level. The memorial care, repair and beautification are done after joining this protected list. Apart from this, there is a ban on any type of construction by deciding a conservation area around that monument.

This tomb is 300 years old
This Dutch tomb located in Chhapra is about 300 years old, which was built in memory of the Dutch Governor Jaukbas Van Harn. During that time, Chhapra Dutch was an important center of business for traders and the Dutch people who died here during this time were buried here. (Harshit Kumar)
