Not only Apple has Problemsto make your in-house voice assistance system Siri Fit for starting the AI age. It also apparently still hooks with the competitor Amazon and the virtual helper Alexa. In February 2025, the US group had the start of a AI-based service called Alexa+ promised for March 2025. The company fully exterminated this time window and only left its fresh service off the line on March 31 – and only a few meters. In fact, Alexa+ currently only selected users in the United States are available who are in possession of an Echo Show 8, 10, 15 or 21. And they can also only use a handful of the announced functions.
Compared to the website The verge confirmed Amazon that Alexa+ will initially only be tested by a few users as part of an early access program. The company left open how long this phase lasts and did not go into the lack of functions. On the official Product page only calls Amazon a small selection of absent features. Accordingly, Alexa+ is not available in the browser for the time being and, even on Fire TV, cannot yet select film and music titles to match the mood of the user. Amazon also admits that food orders are not yet available on the booking page of the service and that Alexa+ cannot yet suggest gift ideas.
Many missing features remain unmentioned
Also an interaction with Amazon Kids+, in which the AI comes up with new stories or creates puzzles, is not yet in sight. Anyone who uses Alexa+ to have documents summarized can only have them extinguished through customer service. The Washington Post (Payment barrier), however, reports on internal documents that many other of the announced functions are not at the start and that something will change in two months at the earliest. For example, meal orders are not possible via the Grubhub based on entitled conversations.
The detection of family members in order to remind them of their household tasks is probably not yet possible. According to the report, Amazon has difficulty getting the functions as desired. Even before Alexa +’s announcement, there are said to have had problems with the development. It is not known when Alexa+ will come to Germany and what the service costs. In the USA, Amazon demands $ 20 (approximately 18.50 euros) per month after the test run and thus five dollars more than for a prime subscription, which is included in the service.
