After the Trump administration blunder, signal denies any vulnerability

In a service note dated March 18 and targeting all Pentagon staff, the Department of Defense in the United States warned a flaw in signal messaging.

“The use of signal by people who are frequently the surveillance and espionage target makes the application itself a high value target to intercept sensitive information”is it explained.

The flaw in question concerns the use of the office application. The latter allows users to interact with signal more comfortably from the computer keyboard. The messages received on the smartphone are thus synchronized on the PC and deciphered. It is by modifying the QR code used to connect a third -party device that an attack can be orchestrated.

For security reasons, Signal has never made available a web application similar to that of WhatsApp. But, last month, Google warned that the software itself could be the subject of a similar attack.

The United States Defense Department explains that it is completely acceptable to use Signal, but not for confidential classified information.
