Panaji: More than 50 tourists from Goa are stranded in Srinagar hotels after a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. However, all people are safe and efforts are on to bring them back. 26 people were killed by terrorists on Tuesday in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, most of whom were tourists. A Goa government official said that after the terrorist attack, all the visitors were taken from Pahalgam and other places to Srinagar hotels. The official said that more than 50 people of Goa are currently in Jammu and Kashmir and are all safe and efforts are on to bring them back.
Tourists were going to go to ‘Basaron Point’
Goa tour operators are also working on a plan to bring back all tourists from Jammu and Kashmir. A tour operator reported that some tourists were going to go to ‘Basaron Point’ after meals, where the attack took place. Ahraj Mulla, co-founder of the tour company Goa Adventure Club in Panaji, said, “When this attack took place, one group of people from Goa was in Pahalgam market, while the other group was in Sonamarg. All were called back to a hotel in Srinagar, where they are currently safe.”
