Cairo: Sudan’s army has again captured the ‘Republican Palace’ in Khartum after a two -year fight, the last stronghold of rival paramilitary forces in the capital. This is indicating the weakening of paramilitary forces in the fight. Sudan’s army itself has given information about the occupation in Khartum. Let us know that the ‘Republican Palace’ is situated on the banks of the Nile and it was the headquarters of the government before the war started.
But after the army coup was occupied by paramilitary forces. This palace was the main stronghold of paramilitary forces. But now the ‘Republican Palace’ has been again captured by the army. Doing so is another achievement in the battlefield for Sudan’s army. The army has been continuously moving forward in recent months under the leadership of Army Chief General Abdel-Fatah Burhan. The capture of the ‘Republican Palace’ means that the rival ‘Rapid Support Force (RSF)’ led by General Mohammad Hamdan Dagalo has been expelled out of the capital of Khatum.
Civil war has been going on in Sudan since 2023
The war in Sudan began in April 2023. The RSF did not accept its defeat immediately. However, despite this defeat, the war will probably not stop as this organization and its colleagues still occupy many areas in Sudan. More than 28,000 people have been killed in this war, millions of people have been forced to leave their homes. Some families are forced to eat even grass to stay alive due to famine spread in many parts of the country. (AP)
