There are a surprise among the Greens two days before the constituent meeting of the new Hamburg Citizenship. The parliamentary group leader draw consequences.

In Hamburg, the sudden withdrawal of the incumbent chairman of the Green Group causes a stir. Jennifer Jasberg and Dominik Lorenzen are no longer available for the board of the new faction, as a spokesman said on Monday evening. This is done just two days before the constituent meeting of the newly elected Hamburg citizens.

Jasberg justifies her waiver with the desire to concentrate more on her constituency Bergedorf. And: “I also understand our election result as a signal that changes are needed,” she said. The Greens had lost about a quarter of their votes in the election on March 2.

It was initially unclear in the evening how things will go on at the Greens Group’s tip. “With us, the situation is very dynamic,” said the group spokesman. With Michael Gwosdz as a parliamentary managing director and Lena Zagst as deputy parliamentary group leader, two incumbent board members are still in office.

In the other factions, the preparations for the constituent session were scheduled for schedule. The CDU confirmed Dennis Thering as the leader of the parliamentary group. With Heike Sudmann and David Stoop, the left chose a new double top. The AfD parliamentary group again determined Dirk Nockemann as chairman.

The SPD parliamentary group nominated Carola Veit for another term as a citizens’ president. There is no doubt about her election on Wednesday.
