The value of the transaction, which still depends on approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Where), was not revealed.

With the acquisition of the distributor TotalEnergies in the country, Sim brings to its operations a network of around 240 gas stations, 2 TRR branches (acronym for Transportador Reseller Retalhista, which are companies authorized by the ANP to buy fuel in bulk and resell it). them in a shredded form) and 17 fuel and ethanol storage bases.

Exit for “strategic reasons”

According to Sim, TotalEnergies is exiting the fuel distribution business in the Brazilian market for strategic reasons. “This acquisition will enable Sim Distribuidora to effectively enter the Central-West, as well as reinforce the company’s position in the Southeast, especially in Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro”, he informs, in a note.

With the transaction, the distributor from Rio Grande do Sul will add around 1 billion liters per year to its business, will operate in 40 terminals, with customers in 9 states and the Federal District, and position itself among the largest players in fuel distribution in the state. country.

“With this acquisition, Argenta, which was born in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul and reached statewide reach, now expands its definitive and consolidated operations throughout the country”, says the group’s president, Neco Argenta, in the note.

Founded in 1985, the group expects to earn R$18 billion in 2024.
