In today’s meeting, new registrations of three-wheelers powered by CNG, petrol and diesel from August 15, 2025 can be announced. The Delhi government is also planning to provide subsidy of up to Rs 36,000 on the purchase of electric two-wheelers to women. While the rest of the people can also be given a subsidy of Rs 30,000.
Petrol and CNG bikes may be banned from August 15, 2026
Under the new EV policy, the Delhi government can ban bikes from petrol, diesel and CNG from August 15, 2026. Rekha Gupta government of Delhi seems to be very serious to control the increasing pollution in the capital. In such a situation, the government plans to close petrol, diesel and CNG two-wheelers and three-wheelers as soon as possible and emphasize electric vehicles. With its new policy, the Delhi government wants 95 percent of the total trains running in the capital by 2027. Apart from this, the Delhi government through this new policy has been eyeing the target of generating 20,000 jobs in electric mobility.
If you already have 2 cars, then only the third car will be able to buy electric
Under the new EV policy, people who already have two cars powered by petrol or diesel in Delhi will not be able to register a third car of petrol or diesel. That is, your third car should be electric, otherwise you will not be able to buy a third car. CNG autos which have been 10 years old by August 15, 2025, will have to be converted into electric. That is, CNG auto more than 10 years old in Delhi can also be banned. Under the new policy, the Delhi government is also working on a plan to create a charging point every 5 km away. Work is going on on planning to make a total of 13,200 charging points in Delhi.
