Footballer Mohamed Sylla collapsed on the pitch at the weekend. The club has now given an update on his health.
French football professional Mohamed Sylla from Dundee FC is on the mend after his collapse last weekend. The Scottish football club announced this on Monday. The 30-year-old collapsed during Dundee’s Premiership game against Aberdeen FC (1:2), presumably as a result of an allergic reaction.
“The club is pleased to announce that Mo Sylla has been discharged from hospital and is recovering at home,” the Dundee website said. “Medical investigations indicate that Mo suffered anaphylactic shock at half-time in Saturday’s game against Aberdeen. Mo continues to be monitored by the Dundee FC medical team.”
Sylla moved to the Scottish first division club last year. He previously played for several lower-class English football clubs. Coaches and teammates initially reacted with shock to the incident on Saturday. However, there was an initial all-clear on site so that the game could continue.
Before kick-off, Dundee FC remembered their former professional Fabian Caballero with a minute’s silence. The former Argentine striker died after a heart attack on Friday at the age of 46.
