CAEB reactions
The Confederation of Business Associations of the Balearic Islands (CAEB) has considered that the decrease in unemployment, of 0.5% compared to the previous month and 7.3% compared to the year-on-year, confirms that the high season has been extended until September.
This was stated by the president of the employers’ association, Carmen Planas, who celebrated that “September has behaved positively again, as it already did in 2023.” He has pointed out that the high season “lasts until autumn in a stable manner” thanks to the fact that the services sector “remains fully active”.
She has also assessed positively that inflation has fallen below 2%, although she has been cautious while waiting to see how it behaves “with the end of some containment measures.”
