Kempten/Hersbruck-With her team presentation “What happens when the sun dies”, Hanna Dix and Emma Schirmer from the 10th grade of the Hildegardis high school are convincing at the country final in Hersbruck and can be for the federal final of “Youth presented” qualify.
As a special award, you also gain participation in the presentation academy, a presentation training session several days with professional rhetoric trainers from the research center Presentation Competence at the University of Tübingen. The federal final will take place on September 28, 2025 in Berlin.
Of the 130 finalists, 25 students enter the federal final from Bavaria. In this year’s competition, over 9,000 pupils nationwide and from the German international schools took part, 600 of them achieved a country finals.

Coachings to promote presentation competence
“Anyone who can present complex scientific content understandably has a valuable ability that remains relevant beyond school. ‘Youth presents’ promotes students to develop this competence and strengthen their rhetorical skills,” says Christian Kleinert, managing director of “Jugend presented”.
In order to expand their presentation skills at the beginning of the competition, the pupils receive individual coaching from rhetoric trainers from the University of Tübingen at the country final. The special challenge for the participants was to present the self -chosen presentation topic in six minutes with exclusively digital media.
For the qualification for the country final, the students initially submitted a video of their presentation or an explanatory video. In addition, there was the opportunity to qualify through a school competition that the schools can carry out individually.
A jury is used throughout the competition that consists of rhetoric experts, teachers, alumni of the competition and scientists. It evaluates the presentations according to the type of presentation, for example the use of body language and voice or whether the design of the presentation films is appropriate to the topic and the addressee. In addition, the factual correctness in the presentation of the topic is an important criterion.
The educational organization “Jugend presented”
The youth presents gGmbH by the Klaus Tschira Foundation and has the goal of promoting the presentation competence and dealing with scientific-mathematical topics at school. For this purpose, “Jugend presented” has been offering free teaching materials and teacher training since 2011 and calls for a nationwide presentation competition annually. The materials and training sessions for teachers and students are developed and carried out by a team of scientists at the seminar for general rhetoric at the University of Tübingen.
