Two Balearic ships in the Spanish Cruise Championship

The Monte Real Yacht Club of Bayona will host the State Lottery and Betting Trophy this weekend, the winner of which will be proclaimed the 2024 Spanish Cruise Champion. The Balearic Islands participate with two representativesthe Lampo Rosso of Joan Jofrerepresenting the Sant Pere Nautical Club, in Menorca, and the Kresal, of Andreu Cirerolunder the flag of the Can Picafort Nautical Club.

Organized by the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation with the collaboration of the Monte Real Club De Yates and the Royal Galician Sailing Federation, The regattas will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, in fleet tests with direct judgment at sea on windward-leeward courses. Matchups with format round robin Friday and Saturday will allow a classification to be established whose top six will compete on Sunday in the grand final that will announce the winner of the State Lottery and Betting Trophy, Spanish Cruise Champion.

Thursday the 3rd is reserved for registration formalization and the training of the different crews on board the boats provided by the Monte Real Yacht Club for the Trophy dispute. Each crew will be made up of six athletes that will sail, without changes, in all the scheduled tests.

After holding a series of qualifying regattas in each territory, finally There will be 18 teams that will attend this year to Bayonne representing twelve communities: Andalusia, Principality of Asturias, Balearic Islands, Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Catalonia, Comunitat Valenciana, Galicia, Autonomous City of Melilla, Region of Murcia and the Basque Country.
