The United States is sharply against people who have critically commented on Israel. This applies in particular to people who are in the country with a student visa.
The US government under Donald Trump has taken the next step to let the critics fall silent in their own country. Even if the resistance of the Trump opponents has been quite timid in the past few weeks, the American elite universities in particular are still considered a democratic strongholds and the place of origin of political activism. Now the US State Department has apparently set itself the task of covering the universities with new reprisals-with dramatic consequences for international students.

Hundreds of foreign students have received the announcement in the past few days that their visas have been revoked – they are now threatened with deportation. As the “Times of India” reports, pro-Palestinian demonstrations and corresponding social media contributions were mentioned as the reason for the measure. According to the report, this procedure will also apply in the future to the allocation of new academic, professional or exchange visa.
According to information from the US news portal “Axios”, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio relies on software with artificial intelligence as part of the new “Catch and Revoke” initiative-in German: “Catching and revoking”. Around 300 student visa is said to have been withdrawn within just three weeks. There are a total of around 1.5 million owners of such visas nationwide.
Shortly after his return to the presidential office, Trump had announced that all foreigners living in the United States would be identified, identify, identify and deploy in “pro-jihadist protests”. Now this announcement is apparently implemented – even if, according to media reports, many of those affected have not participated in protests or have not solidarized with the terrorist organization Hamas. As the “Times of India” reports, citing immigration lawyers, in some cases the liking or sharing of critical contributions online was sufficient.
The emails to those affected say that according to the original visa ceremony, new information appeared that would have led to the cancellation of the visa. Those affected are asked to leave the country immediately- otherwise they were at risk of money and prison terms or a compulsively deportation. Literally it says: “Please note that the deportation can take place at a time that does not enable the person to be deprived of the person to be secured in the United States or regulate personal affairs.” In addition, deported people could be transferred to a different country than their country of origin – only one rapid departure could prevent this.
