In 2023, Tijen Onaran was one of the new faces at “The Lions’ Den”. Now she has decided to turn her back on the TV format.
Last year, Tijen Onaran took part in “The Lions’ Den” as an investor for the first time. The entrepreneur is particularly known for her commitment to digitalization and the visibility of women in business. She founded companies such as Global Digital Women and the diversity consultancy ACI.
Onaran had big plans for the founders’ show: “I started as an investor to bring more diversity to the German economy and that is also my goal as the new lioness on ‘The Lions’ Den’. This is a topic close to my heart,” she explained in a Vox press release. The 39-year-old is also pursuing this mission in the new episodes of the 16th season – but her days on the TV format are numbered.
As “Bild” reports, Tijen Onaran is quitting the Vox show. “‘The Lion’s Den’ is a great entertainment show with committed founders who are moving our country forward. However, my focus is increasingly on the role of a driving force behind politics and business – that’s why I started my own talk and will be there in 2025 contribute more here,” said the entrepreneur, explaining her decision.
Onaran launched her video podcast “MUT – The Germany Talk with Tijen Onaran” on September 17th. In the two episodes broadcast so far, Green Party leader Ricarda Lang and psychologist Ahmad Mansour had their say.
Vox regrets the decision of investor Tijen Onaran: “It is right that Tijen Onaran has decided to focus her entrepreneurial activities on other projects in the future and is therefore saying goodbye to ‘The Lion’s Den’.” We would like to thank her for the past seasons and wish the Karlsruhe native “good luck and all the best,” it continues.
But it’s still a while away from Tijen Onaran’s final farewell. The author will be involved in both the fall season and spring 2025.
