Several prisons again targeted, with burned cars. Three vehicles belonging to penitentiary personnel were burnt down early Wednesday before the Tarascon prison (Bouches-du-Rhône), the day after the coordinated attacks against several penitentiary establishments in France, said the city’s public prosecutor.
The fires occurred around at 5:20 am in a parking lot “isolated, reserved for staff, fence and secure access by a digitalis”, said Tarascon prosecutor Laurent Gumbau. A priori no registration was found on the scene, he said.
The day before, the establishments of Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), Aix-Luynes (Bouches-du-Rhône) and Valence (Drôme) had also been affected by vehicle fires. The Toulon penitentiary center was the subject of automatic gunfire.
“Young offenders paid a few thousand euros”
“What I know about the Ministry of the Interior is that there is a site in Tarascon where cars were burned this morning, very early,” said the Keeper of the Seals on Cnews, saying that “there would have been no new blue night as we saw yesterday, which was obviously absolutely unacceptable”.
“There are obviously people who try to destabilize the state by intimidating it because we take measures against laxity that may have previously existed in prisons: we whiten money, we call ourselves by drones, we threaten police officers and we escape like M.AMRA, by having prison agents assassinate,” continued Gérald Darmanin. Through these agents it is the state which is targeted, we try to see if it will back up. »»
For the Minister of Justice, the decision to create high security prisons, “an unprecedented prison regime” could be the cause of these acts of violence: “We are setting up an unprecedented prison regime since we create high security prisons. »»
The acronym “DDPF” (defense of the rights of French prisoners) was found registered on several of the attacked establishments. If he “does not exclude anything” as for the authors of these violence, Gérald Darmanin nevertheless believes that “when we shoot the Kalashnikov against penitentiary centers, these are young delinquents paid for a few thousand euros to make this kind of actions, which aim to make the state back down, that agents are afraid. We are not going to go back because we do not threaten the state. »»
