The main employers’ organizations are gathered in Bercy for a first “business council”, in order to dialogue with ministers on subjects such as customs duties.
It is a question, explained to the press the Minister of Economy Eric Lombard before the meeting, “to establish a dialogue on the situation of our country, at a time when we are in a difficult negotiation with the Americans, where we are also in the preparation of a 2026 budget to which we want to associate them”.
In addition to the ministerial teams, there were thus gathered around the table on Monday the leaders of the MEDEF, the CPME, the U2P, the three representative employers’ organizations, and those of the AFEP (French Association of Private Companies), the Lobby of large companies. These meetings should take place approximately every month and a half, according to Bercy.
