The interest in Steamos continues to grow, even among manufacturers like HP which openly recognize the limitations of Windows 11 for portable consoles. Josephine Tan, responsible for gaming solutions at HP, has confirmed to consider Steamos for future portable devices.
The Kernel Linux 6.14 could still improve the experience with its “NT synchronization” technology, promising 50% to 150% gains for Windows Games executed under Linux. For the ROG Ally X, these improvements could further expand the performance gap with Windows 11.
Until Valve offers an official and simplified installation solution for the Rog Ally X, less technical users have every interest in waiting for a few months. The most adventurous, they will already be able to taste the higher performance that Steamos offers on this equipment, confirming that Windows 11 is definitely not the best option for PC portable consoles.
