The Spanish Mediation Association (ASEMED) has awarded the award in the category of Best Restorative Justice Program to the Ministry of Justice of Andalusia, in recognition of the implementation of the Intrajudicial Criminal Mediation program.
This award recognizes the effort and commitment of the Ministry in promoting a more humane and closer model of justicebased on restoring damage and building healthier relationships in society.
The award given by ASEMED especially values those initiatives that have contributed significantly to restorative justice in their social communities, whether at the provincial, regional, national or international level. In this sense, the Intrajudicial Criminal Mediation program of the Ministry of Justice of Andalusia has been a reference in the implementation of alternative solutions to criminal conflict, with an innovative approach that prioritizes dialogue and reparation over punishment.
Intrajudicial Criminal Mediation, developed by the Department of Justice, its objective is to facilitate the meeting between victims and offenders, with the support of specialized mediators who allow the parties to address conflicts constructively and resolve them through reparatory agreements.
This initiative It has been successfully implemented in different locations in Andalusiaoffering people involved in criminal proceedings a way to restitute the damage caused and promote reconciliation and social reintegration.
