The President of the Government, Pedro Sanchezhas once again turned against Israel by transferring his support and that of his Government to his “friend”, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterresafter the Government of Benjamin Netanyahu has declared persona non grata and has vetoed his entry into the country due to his statement after the attack by Iran.
In a message published on his social networks, Pedro Sánchez thanked Guterres, vetoed by Israel, for his commitment to the “search for peace, and his unwavering defense of multilateralism and dialogue to resolve conflicts,” he added.

Israel has made the decision this Wednesday to prohibit entry into the country of Antonio Guterressecretary general of the UNto whom he has declared person non grata The Israeli Foreign Minister, Israel Katzhas given the order after the State of Benjamin Netanyahu has publicly shown on several occasions his disagreement with Guterres’ position and several of his statements regarding the conflict in the Middle East.
The state of Israel has based its veto on the UN Secretary General on the fact that António Guterres did not “unequivocally” condemn the attack with 200 missiles of Iran this Tuesday: “He does not deserve to set foot on Israeli soil.” Thus, Foreign Minister Israel Katz has described Guterres as an “anti-Israel who provides support to terrorists, rapists and murderers». By the latter he refers to Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and the Yemeni Houthis. He points to Iran as ultimately responsible for “global terror.” For this reason, he continues, Guterres will be remembered “as a stain on the history of the UN».
This is not the first time that the Israeli Government refers to António Guterres for his words about the conflict in Middle East and his lack of support for Israel. In fact, he criticized the “inadmissible” statement by the UN Secretary General after the start of Iran’s attack this Tuesday. The head of the United Nations condemned “the expansion of the conflict in the Middle East”, with “one escalation after another.”
